I have published a new post at Dog Star Daily about some research regarding confrontational dog training methods. The researchers polled families on what training methods they had tried and what the outcomes were.
Take a look and let me know what you think.

Too bad Dog Star Daily discourages comments, but I am sure there is a reason for that. You made your point, and I'll let you assume the alpha role for now. You clearly have more training and research behind your comments.
However, I still maintain that vigorous exercise and regular daily training exercises has brought me and many I have helped to a better place–more bonded–with our dogs.
I just hate to see one successful dog “trainer” ganged up on. Cesar's heart appears to be in the right place, as does yours. I'll support you both.
I don't believe DSD discourages comments, but either way they are welcome here. I only moderate them because of the unbelievable amount of comment SPAM I receive. I've never deleted a comment that wasn't SPAM or a duplicate.
There's a lot more to Cesar than just vigorous exercise and daily training. For example, the episode I reviewed purported to show significant results to very severe behavioral problems in just a few hours, using very confrontational methods. That's just not realistic; but people will watch that show, try similar techniques, and may either get hurt or hurt their dogs.
I find the characterization of Cesar as “ganged” up on a bit curious. He has a very successful TV show that is entering its 6th calendar year, 2 (or is it 3?) bestselling books, and he is currently on an international tour. The first criticism, as has been repeatedly pointed out, was from a very prestigious board-certified veterinary behaviorist *before* the show aired – and NGC still launched the show. The criticism hasn't phased anyone or made a dent in his success.
I am going to stick criticizing to what I see and hear (a new review is coming – they take a long time to do well) and see what happens. Your comments are welcome and encouraging, but I have to say that some of the others have been a bit discouraging.
Thanks for the good article, but the article page quite slow when loading
However, confrontational is not always difficult, you just need to learn the right step before start.
