Weekend Update August 21, 2009

Still a busy week here, so I am going to double up on my normal Friday posting and Saturday’s Weekend Update.

However, I’m throwing in a bonus to make up for lost information: here is a sneak preview at the Winter 2009 newsletter! Feel free to forward that to anyone you think might find it useful.

And now some news from around the intertubes:

• Racked.com has a weekly “store sidekicks” feature that highlights a different pet that inhabits a shop in New York City. Last week’s story was about Tiny Tim, a three legged dog in the West VIllage.
• In Illinois a judge has ruled that an autistic boy may take his service dog to school. This is an important ruling, as some schools have successfully blocked service animals in similar situations.
• A friend pointed this site out to me, where a rescue is adopting out dogs rescued from Thailand. I’ll write more on this later. In the meantime, check out the great photos!
• My weekly posting to Dog Star Daily is here, where I discuss one of the stories regarding canine intelligence that been making the rounds.
