Jim Sak and Snickers Reunited

pit bull service dog

Not Snickers.

As you may have already read, a judge has ruled in Jim Sak’s favor and by now Snickers is home, where he belongs.

Is is over? Maybe not, apparently Aurelia can still counter-sue and since they refuse to make anything more than cursory statements about how they are/were violating federal law and lovin’ it, we don’t know yet. Hopefully after the New Year they will announce that they have come to their senses and leave Mr. Saks and his family in peace. Or nothing will happen at the next council meeting and we can assume it is over.

Rather than end the ChipIn on the right I have “rebranded” it to Animal Farm Foundation. Let’s wait and see what happens with Aurelia in the next few weeks. Boarding Snickers must have cost them a few hundred dollars at least, so if you are so inclined, please give.

  1. Thank goodness somebody exercised some common sense. I’ve been following this story. Hopefully the obstinate among the city officials don’t get re-elected.

  2. threenorns says:

when will they learn that bsl ***does not work***!? it’s a simple case of blaming the breed and failing to hold the owner accountable for their actions. my dog is a border collie mix, weighs 70lbs, and quite frankly, the way he was headed, i’d put him up against a pit bull any day. he’s lightning fast (we clocked him doing 40 in the sunfire – tied a bone to the bumper – and he overtook a dirt bike doing 30kmph quite handily), has massively powerful jaws (rocks and a tree stump being two of the things he has eaten and i mean that literally: chewed and digested!); and can jump up to land on the top of a 4ft high retaining wall from a sit. all this, with no particular training! oh – did i mention trees? he’ll climb them, too.

had i not woken up and smelled the doodoo, he would’ve been another stastic and i would’ve been another moron dog owner blaming the dog for being “bad”. and yet – he’d be perfectly legal while a SERVICE DOG is not!???

the world has gone arse over kip crazy, my friends.
