Summer is pretty much upon us — I’m writing this at 1:00AM during a thunderstorm. It became severe enough that Caffeine was very upset and needed her Thundershirt. Caffeine has thunderstorm phobia, which I wrote about this week in a guest post over at Pawcurious.
I’m also a regular blogger at The Daily Comics Review. I post there on Tuesdays. Take at look at this week’s post and leave me a comment!
I came across a very entertaining article this week about a man’s efforts to get his dogs to stop barking. It’s an entertaining take on the lengths people will go to to avoid doing the obvious. (I’m pretty sure it was on Twitter? If you are the person who shared this, let me know in the comments.)
I also saw this heartwarming story about a blind dog that has found help from another dog this week. Bring a hankey.
Dancing Dog Blog has a new review of “Am I Boring My Dog?” which I reviewed here a while back. Mary goes a bit more in depth than I did.
This week Go Pet Friendly posted the first in a series of interviews they have planned for people the travel with their dogs. Great interview and a great idea for a series. Also, Go Pet Friendly’s main web site has gone through a makeover and has some cool new features for travelers. Take a look!
Last, here’s a few laughs for you:

The foxes are great – the bigger one was really into the trampoline! And that story about the barking dogs – oh, my gut! Thanks for sharing and I did the same on FB I took in a blind Bloodhound who was done breeding – she was 6 years old, had been blind virtually her entire life. I thought I would need to use scented oils or find a seeing eye companion for her but no – Katey gets along w/her nose VERY well. She was adopted from me into a family whose children were all adopted special needs – and now, so it their dog :0.
Thanks for the mention on the review of Edie Jarolim's book:) There have been so many reviews–I thought your video was the best and such a cool medium to use–so the only place for me to go to be useful was from a shelter perspective. When I think about the function of providing a great informational primer, sometimes reinforcing what's already been stated – people only absorb half of what a shelter shares with them as they are going through the adoption process -the hours of anxiety and the panicky calls to the shelter it could save gave me the another angle.
That storm was something – we had it throughout the day, but it got really bad last night. I had convinced Tashi not to worry himself behind the sofa – then I saw a streak of light go through the courtyard's trees then a huge “Boom” and house felt like it was jumping off it's foundation–Tashi was sitting with me,I have been working with him and his storm issues–but I jumped in surprise at the violent assault to the norm. Tashi stared at me – I think he was more distracted by my reaction because he didn't jump off the sofa and start pacing from one end of the house to the other – but I swear if he could talk he would have been saying “I TOLD YOU SO!”
Loved those videos! Foxes playing and discovering a very weird thing about the ground just there, baby and dog playing – gotta love baby's laughing:)
