Are You Thinking About Buying a Puppy Online for Christmas?

Are considering buying a puppy online or from a pet store this year? If so, please watch this video.

Please considering adopting from a rescue or contact the AKC and get the name of a reputable breeder or breed club if you wish to get a pedigreed puppy. Don’t support puppy mills.

(Update: In my haste to post this earlier, I neglected to credit the excellent Dancing Dog Blog.)

Thanks for sharing this video! Raising awareness about these issues is very important. We should not support those who exploit these poor animals.

Amazing how many people still shop for puppies from online or pets stores & do not even check out where they puppies have been raised or bred.
I could not imagine how that man even worked there a day. Glad that he is using what he learned to help others become aware.
When there is no money coming in from the sales of these poor dogs, then people will stop breeding.

It is sad that people don't get the message. To a certain degree the pet stores should bear some of the blame (or shame) for obfuscating, if not outright lying about where the puppies come from.

I don't think attacklng this from the demand side is going to stop it. Legislators and the AKC both need to step up too.
